Dorothy McDougall

Dorothy Jean McDougall was born January 3, 1922 in Ulen, MN to William L. and Edith (Champion) Gilbery. She was raised and educated in rural Glyndon, MN. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert McDougall November 25, 1939 in Detroit Lakes. They lived in Detroit Lakes until moving to Fargo, ND where Dorothy worked as a waitress at the Elks and Eagles. Robert died in 1969. Dorothy returned to Detroit Lakes in 1990 where she lived at Silver Birch Apartments. She enjoyed time with her family, birthday parties and going to lunch with her granddaughters. Survivors include seven sons: Dennis (Carol) of Stockton, CA, Gerold (Ida) of Richwood, MN, Poncho (Jan) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Robert (Mary) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Stan (Donna) of Fargo, ND, Doug (Bonnie) of Fargo, ND, Gary (Pam) of Willmar, MN, two daughters: Jeanette (Jim) Moran of Seattle, WA, Jean (Clair) Sorensen of Detroit Lakes, MN, 13 granddaughters, one grandson, 33 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald (1964), brothers: Earl and Warren (infant) and sisters: Etta, Eunice, Marie and Violet, granddaughters: Molly Sorensen and Jenny McDougall
