Dustin Gilbertson

Dustin G. Gilbertson, 30, Knew God and talked to him often. His name is in the book of life. Today he spends his day walking the streets of gold to the home Jesus promised to build him. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Audubon, Reverend Dean Grier, officiating. Interment services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Horace Cemetery in Horace, ND. Visitation is from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Monday with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. The visitation will continue at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Dustin called his mom in the morning and said "pray for me" as he did every Wednesday before going out on the road. She told him she would and that she loved him. God had different plans, A storm came in and he turned back to work from home and play in the snow. Dustin went home to be with God at 6:30 PM on January 22nd, 2014. God called Dustin home as he was doing what he loved, riding snowmobile. Thank-you God for 30 years, one month and 1 day of Dustin. Dustin Gordon Gilbertson began his journey at 5:35 pm, December 21, 1983 in Fargo, ND to proud parents Gary and JoAnn (Jacobs) Gilbertson. He grew up in Horace, North Dakota and is a 2002 graduate of Kindred High School. He trained as a firefighter in Moorhead, MN and completed his paramedic training in Fargo, ND. He then completed the Business and Marketing Program at M State in Detroit Lakes. Dustin worked hard and loved his work as a bartender at the Cormorant Pub from 2005 to the present, a partner in L & S Enterprises in Detroit Lakes from 2010 to the present and Worked with Funds Access from 2010 to the present. Dustin played hard, He loved being a dad, spending time on his 40 acres, being a bartender, hunting. Fishing, laughing, snowboarding, family trips, National Lampoons Vacation, snowmobiling and he loved people. Dustin may have been an only child, but he had more brothers and sisters than anyone. Survivors include his daughter, Tali JoAnn Gilbertson of Audubon, the love of his life, Kelsey Wilberg of Audubon, his parents: Gary (Mary) Gilbertson of Fargo and JoAnn (Robin Johnson) Gilbertson of Corpus Christi, TX, his grandmothers, Doris Jacobs of Fargo, ND and Clara Gilbertson of Moorhead, MN, Kelsey's parents: Randall & Denise Wilberg of Audubon, MN. Many cousins, Aunts and Uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clifford Jacobs and Jerome Gilbertson.
