Dwight Delano Nesemeier

Dwight Delano Nesemeier, 79, of Frazee, MN, passed away on February 19, 2024 at Essentia Health - St. Mary's, Detroit Lakes. 

Dwight was born on November 30, 1944 in Fargo, ND, the son of Alfred and Martha (Saar) Nesemeier. In his earlier years, Dwight's journey took him from Leonard, ND to Lake Park, MN before settling in Barnesville, MN where he attended school. Dwight and his family later moved to Pomona, CA where he proudly graduated from Ganesha High School.

Dwight was a chef in Fargo, ND, but his passions extended beyond the kitchen; He volunteered to be the caregiver for several of his family members in their time of need. In 2010, he relocated to Little Toad Lake to be with his sister, Marlys Tingesdahl. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church Height of Land, where his presence and kindness were felt by all.

Described as reserved yet full of hobbies like making floral arrangements for weddings, gardening, fishing, cooking, watching movies, shopping, and even square dancing, Dwight always found joy in the simple things in life. He had a knack for starting projects but wasn't always keen on finishing them – a charming quirk that made him endearing to all who knew him.

He leaves behind his sister, Marlys Tingesdahl, great-nephew, David Tingesdahl, and niece, Ranae Tingesdahl. 

Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dwain Nesemeier, and nephew, David “Tex” Tingesdahl.

A Visitation in memory of Dwight will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church Height of Land in Frazee on February 26th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Dwight Delano Nesemeier will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched with his warmth and generosity. May he rest in peace.
