Edward Warren

Edward R. Warren, 75, White Earth, MN, died Friday, February 4, 2012 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 7 at the Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church in rural Ogema, MN. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Monday at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. The visitation will continue at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Edward Robert Warren was born December 14, 1936 in rural Ponsford, MN to George and Josephine (Fineday) Warren. Following the death of his parents, he made his home with Emma and John Johnson in rural Ogema, MN. He attended the Flandreau (SD) Indian School. After graduation, He served with the United States Army and then worked as a general laborer and, for a period of time, was a deputy sheriff for the Becker County Sheriff's office. Ed was also a musician, playing lead guitar in the army and in a number of area clubs. He was united in marriage to Beverly Manning in White Earth, MN in 1959. He enjoyed playing his music and checking the hallways of the apartment building. Survivors include three daughters and two sons: Cindy (Daniel) McDougall of Callaway, MN, Sandra Kier of Waubun, MN, Susan (Ed) Barnette of Ogema, MN, Phillip (Donna) Warren of White Earth, MN and John Warren of Detroit Lakes, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one sister: Elizabeth Warren of Detroit Lakes. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: George Warren Jr., Roderick Warren and three sisters: Bernice Jackson, Dorothy Brown and Isabelle Engelke.
