Elaine Kraft

Elaine Ben Rosalyn Kraft, 80, passed away at her home in Lake Park, MN on Friday, March 4, 2011, after a short battle with lymphoma cancer.
Elaine was born to Edwin and Ruby (Tiegen) Braseth in Lake Park on January 12, 1931. She was one of five children and loved her brother and sisters very much. She went to school in Lake Park and after graduating moved to Minneapolis, MN. There she met Fred Kraft, whom she referred to as her soul mate. They were united in marriage on March 3, 1951 at the Fort Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis.
Elaine cherished her family, especially all of her grandsons. She loved baking, gardening and her chickens. She treasured being on the farm and was often heard to comment that "silence is vastly under rated". She was kind to everyone and always put others first.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Fred Kraft of Lake Park, daughters: Susan Hambleton, Colleen Kraft-Griffeth (Clint Griffeth) of Sedro Woolley, WA, Tracey (Vasken) Maghakian of Duarte, CA and her grandchildren: Kelly (Alysse Baldwin) Hambleton, Clinton Griffeth, Eric Hambleton, Alexander Maghakian, and Christopher Maghakian. She is also survived by her sisters: Betty (Lloyd) Varholt of Detroit Lakes and Donna (Jack) Parsons of Minneapolis. Elaine is preceded in death by her sister, Irene Braseth, brother, Albert Braseth and her two sons: Fred M. Kraft and David M. Kraft. Elaine's family is grateful that their father and mother were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary before she passed away. They are also thankful they were able to have her at home for her last days with the help of friends and neighbors and Hospice of the Red River Valley. At Elaine's request, there will be no funeral services. Instead, she wanted a memorial service in warmer weather. "I don't want people to have to drive through snow-drifts". Notification will be provided when a memorial service is scheduled.
