Eldon Lloyd

Eldon H. Lloyd, 71, Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Truman and Jackson, MN, died Thursday at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman, MN, Reverends Gerald Geise and Earl Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in the Nashville Cemetery, rural Truman, MN. Friends may call 3:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and 1 hour prior to the service at the church in Truman on Tuesday. Eldon Henry Lloyd was born April 19, 1940 in rural Truman, MN to Verle and Mary (Lovell) Lloyd. He was raised and educated in Truman and is a 1958 graduate of Truman High School. He then attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis where he completed the plumbing program. Eldon was united in marriage to Lois Vogt April 9, 1961 in Northrop, MN. They made their home in Jackson, MN where he operated Lloyd's Plumbing and Heating and served on the Jackson Fire Dept. for 19 years. He was then employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, moving the Detroit Lakes in 1995. He retired in 2006. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Detroit Lakes, two daughters: Amy (Craig) Teetzel of Rogers, MN, Ann Lloyd (Brian Laven) of Minnetonka, MN, a son: Michael (Anita) Lloyd of Minneapolis, MN, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his twin sister: Elna (Merle) Craig of Truman, MN, a brother: Dean (Jean) Lloyd of Ida, Michigan, a sister –in-law: Dorothy Comstock of Des Moines, IA, many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the joint direction of David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and Zaharia Funeral Home in Truman, MN.
