Eleanora Woodard

Eleanora H. "Becky" Woodard, 83, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Monday, August 15 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 19 at Zion Lutheran Church, Reverend Dan C. Abrahams, officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Frazee, MN. Friends may call 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at David-Donehower Funeral Home. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Eleanora Harriet Woodard, known as "Becky" was born February 5, 1928 in Bertha, MN to Rev. Martin and Roma (Ketcher) Beck. She moved with her family to Dent, MN, Dora Township (rural Dent) and to Evergreen, MN. Becky is a 1946 graduate of Frazee High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Woodard August 14, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Evergreen. They made their home in Frazee prior to moving to Detroit Lakes in 1950. During her working life, Becky worked for Rudy Reese Buick, J.C. Penny's and for the Becker County Clerk of Court's office. She was also the organist at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Evergreen, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee and for Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. She retired from playing in 2008. Becky was also a sales representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics for the past 40 years. She enjoyed playing softball for the Mama Burgers, the first Zion Lutheran women's softball team; the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings, the 16 winters she & Bob spent in Texas and the time she had with her grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Zion Lutheran Music and Worship Committee, choir director and LWML. Survivors include her husband, Bob of Detroit Lakes, three daughters: Carol (Ronald) Gothberg of West Fargo, ND, Karla (Butch) Brogren of Detroit Lakes. Kimberly (Tony) Matter of Hawley, MN; six grandchildren: Derreck and Shaun Gothberg, Denise Fyhrie, Jason and Corey Brogren and Kristi Schlauderaff; seven great-grandchildren: Lauren, Olivia and Evan Fyhrie, Jack, Abby and Madeline Gothberg and Tate Schlauderaff; two brothers: Alfred (Esther) Beck of Portland, OR, Arnie (Dixie) Beck of Clinton, OH and a sister: Lorna (Jerry) Arneson of Frazee, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Franklin and an infant sister and infant brother.
