Elizabeth Helen McArthur was born in Callaway, MN on August 3, 1920 to Clifford and Pearl (Hainer) McArthur. She grew up near Callaway and attended school in Waubun, MN. She graduated from Waubun High School in 1938. Elizabeth then attended business school in Detroit Lakes for one year before moving to Minneapolis, MN. In 1942 she married William L. Kroeger. William designed golf courses and throughout their married life they moved to various locations in the southern United States. William died in 1964. Elizabeth continued living in Minneapolis, MN raising their children and working at Art-O-Graph where she was an office manager. In 1984 she married Richard Brandt and they made their home in Madelia, MN where they enjoyed their retirement. Richard died in 2000. Elizabeth loved crafting, reading her many books, listening to her favorite music, ballroom dancing, gardening; but most importantly spending time with her family.
Elizabeth will be remembered and missed by her children, Margaret Tollefsbol of Duncansville, TX, Carole and her husband Mike Sheldon of Frazee, MN, Bill Kroeger of Savage, MN and Beth Renschler of St. James, MN. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Bill Gopp, Jon Sheldon and Nanci Qualey. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Kroeger; second husband, Richard Brandt; one child, Nancy Lea.
