Eugene Tollefson

Gene was born April 20, 1942 in Pelican Rapids, MN to Oscar and Ebba (Swanson) Tollefson. He was raised and educated in Erhard. He attended school in Erhard and finished in Pelican Rapids, MN. On August 1, 1964, Gene was united in marriage to Ardis Williams in Fergus Falls, MN. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 1973. Gene drove truck for Gabor Trucking from 1973 to 1988 and later for Vitran Express in Fargo, ND until he semi retired in 2006. He then drove part-time for DL Express in Detroit Lakes until his health permitted him from doing so. Gene covered over 6 million miles throughout his driving career. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing the different lakes in the area and driving his ATV around the countryside.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ardis of Detroit Lakes, children: Jay (LeAnn) Tollefson of Callaway, MN, Tammy (Donnie) Tate of Detroit Lakes. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Dustin Tate, Danika Tate, Jenna Tollefson, Tyler Tollefson and Meghan Block, great grandson: Caleb along with one brother: Wayne (Sylvia Branden) Tollefson of Pelican Rapids, MN, one sister Ardel (Don) Tollefson of Oklahoma City, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Manfred and Benie.
