Evelyn Schmoll

Evelyn L. Schmoll, 96, Callaway, MN, died Saturday at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Circles of Faith United Church of Christ in Waubun, MN, Pastor Christy May, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Evelyn Luella Schmoll was born July 28, 1914 in Rochester, MN to Albert and Julia (Westover) Story. She moved with her family to LaCrosse, WI as a young girl. Evelyn was united in marriage to Christian Schmoll September 10, 1931 in Ogema, MN. They lived in Waubun until; moving to Ogema in 1944. Christ died in 1973. Evelyn worked for Swift and Company and for Emmanuel Nursing Home both in Detroit Lakes. She was united in marriage to Phillip Schmoll May 14, 1977 in Detroit Lakes. They lived in Sidney, MT until moving to Callaway, MN in 1980. Phillip died in 1997. Evelyn moved to Frazee, MN in 2010. She was well known for sewing teddy bears. She also enjoyed crafts, making dish cloths, watching the Minnesota Twins, gardening, shopping and telling stories. Survivors include a daughter: Florence Mastin of Virginia, MN, a son: Richard (Flo) of Stevensville, MT, 15 grandchildren and numerous grand and great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Joyce and Cleo; three grandsons, two sisters and two brothers.
