Evonne Ladwig

Evonne J. Ladwig, 56, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Sunday, August 18 at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at David-Donehower Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hamden Cemetery, rural Audubon. Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at David-Donehower Funeral Home. Evonne Joyce Ladwig was born September 1, 1956 in Cavalier, ND to Hjalmer and Florence (Holliday) Jore. As a child she moved with her family to Norwalk and LaMarada, California. In 1969, the family moved to Little Falls, MN where Evonne graduated from Little Falls High School in 1974. She received her L. P. N. training at the Detroit Lakes Technical College. Evonne was united in marriage to Robert Ladwig October 23, 1976 in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in the Detroit Lakes area where she worked as a nurse for several area nursing facilities. For the greatest number of years, she worked for Sunnyside Nursing Home near Lake Park. Evonne cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Detroit Lakes, three sons: Chad, Erik (Libby Bucholz) and Justin all of Detroit Lakes, four grandchildren: Kaitlyn & Bryanne Brodtmann, Noah Ladwig and Taylor Kohler, one brother: Stanley (Muriel) Jore of Owatonna, MN, three sisters: Wanda (Reggie) Stoppelmoor of Hampton, IA, Cindy (John) Contreras of Oakdale, MN, Julie (Jay) Robinson of Little Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Katrina and her parents.
