rancis Michael Schreder was born February 19, 1934 at Calio, ND to Frank and Ludwina (Walerius) Schreder. He was raised and educated at Munich, ND, graduating from Munich High School in 1952. He then attended the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, ND. Francis was united in marriage to Maureen Metcalf in 1954 in East Grand Forks, ND. He joined First Bank Systems working in Rolla, ND, Worthington, MN, and Grand Forks, ND. He retired in 1985 as the Managing Director for the Northern North Dakota Region of First Banks. Following his retirement, they moved to their lake home on Bad Medicine Lake in rural Detroit Lakes.
Francis enjoyed time with his grandchildren, woodworking and gardening. He was a charter member of the Rolla
Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Maureen of Detroit Lakes, Four sons: Michael (Joy) Schreder of Grafton, WI, Jon Schreder of Fargo, ND, Robert Schreder of Fargo, ND, Terry Schreder of Fargo, ND; Four daughters: January (Fred)
Allais of Rock Springs, WY, Judy (Scott) Johanson of Alexandria, MN, Melissa (Rudy Braseth) Schreder of Ulen, MN, Mary Beth (Martin) Freeman of Cudahy, WI, Eleven grandchildren, and a sister, Bernetta (Ambrose) Ruchotzky of DeWitt, Iowa.
