Frank D. Miosek

Frank D. Miosek, 88, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023 at the Frazee Care Facility.  He was married to the love of his life, Marge, for 67 years; a majority of that time was spent living around the Pelican Lake area.  Marge and Frank moved here in May 1973 from Parsippany, New Jersey to get away from the rat race of the city and enjoy a more relaxed country atmosphere.  They bought and operated Pelican Beach Resort for approx. 6 years during which time Frank also began his own business of boat/dock lift repair and storage.  After selling the resort, he continued with his business until retirement a few years ago. 

Dad’s love of the outdoors always took him to repairing things and “putzing around in his shop” even if some days he enjoyed nothing more than sitting outside and waiting for someone to drive up the road and ask him, “Hey Frank, you got a boat trailer, I can rent for a few hours?” or “Frank, any chance you got a (insert tool name) I can borrow?” 

When the lake ice finally went out in the spring, you could find Frank (look for the 6 ft. guy with the red knit hat) outside prepping the flatbed pontoon boat so he could begin putting in your boat lift for the summer season.

Health issues in the past couple years really challenged Frank and Marge; it was time to sell the house and they moved to the Vergas Assisted Living in December 2022.  More health problems ensued, this time Frank needed more care and Hospice, so another move was made—both Marge and Frank went to live at the Frazee Care Center.  Last week Frank had a stroke which left him unable to speak but he could understand his family and caregivers.

On Tuesday morning, it was time to finally leave this world and enjoy the peace that only our Lord can provide.  Left to cherish the memories of their time with him are his wife Katherine “Marge”; his daughter Sue and her husband Rod & their daughter Katie; son Ken and his wife Teri, also their children and families:  Jake & Tally with Etta and Maria; Josh & Jesse with Keeton and Alivia; Jordan with Violet, Charlie, & Tommy; Kylene & Isaac with Kathryn, Isaiah, Eli, Max, and Jeremiah; Michael & Kristine with Bailey & Noah; Sonja & David with Cole, Lily and Devin; Henry & Amy with Bradley; Elijah, Jesse and special family member Marcia Goodyear.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Albina as well as both paternal and maternal grandparents. 

Memorial visitation for Frank will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH (24876 Franklin Lake Rd, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572).  The funeral service for Frank will be held at 10:30 AM.  Final rest will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family or the Zion Lutheran Church in memory of Frank Miosek.
