Franklin Harold "Cowboy" Jackson Jr. age 60, of Ogema, MN entered into the spirit world surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 15, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday September 19 at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth, Reverend Jackie Bernacchi officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, September 18 from 6:00-7:00PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Franklin was born in White Earth, MN on April 15, 1954 to Franklin and Doris (Bevins) Jackson. He attended St. Benedict's Mission School and served as an altar boy for St. Benedict's Catholic Church. He later attended Waubun High School. After high school Franklin graduated from the automotive mechanics' program at Detroit Lakes Technical College. He went on to work with his father as a carpenter and later worked as a carpenter for White Earth Housing. In 1968 he met Liz King and they began dating in 1973, a relationship that lasted until his passing. He is preceded in death by his father Franklin Senior; brother, Michael; grandparents, Frank and Hazel Jackson, and Aaron and Marcianne Bevins; and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother, Doris Jackson; his soul mate of 41 years, Liz King; sisters, Mary Cox (Paul), Beverly Jackson (Gary), and Sharon Jackson (Darrell); brothers, Leon, Donald, David, and Merlin; children, Christopher (Barb) Jackson and Priscilla (Jamie) Bevins; 10 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
