Gerald Christianson

Gerald Wayne Christianson was born February 18, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Gustav and Judith (Bunker) Christianson. He passed away October 29, 2019 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.

He was baptized at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and grew up and attended school in South Minneapolis. Jerry graduated from Heart of the Earth Survival School, and continued his education attending trade school for carpentry.

On January 15, 2000 Jerry was united in marriage to Michelle Yelvington in San Diego, they made their home in San Diego before returning to Minnesota.

Jerry worked as an apartment caretaker in Bloomington before he and Michelle moved to Audubon. He worked of Luxury Landscaping and Team Industries before moving to Ponsford. He loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Jerry was always known to lift people’s spirits with his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife: Michelle Christianson of Ponsford; children: Gerald Christianson Jr. of Minneapolis; Dillon Christianson of Ponsford; Chelsea Christianson of Detroit Lakes; Cheyenne Christianson of Ponsford; siblings: Dawn Johnson of Robbinsdale; Rochelle Christianson of Detroit Lakes; Allan Christianson of Detroit Lakes; Robert (Francis) Christianson of Detroit Lakes; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Gustav D. Christianson and Judith Bursaw, and sons: Gustav Christianson and Steven Christianson.
