Gerald "Jerry" Adams

Gerald “Jerry” Eugene Adams, age 63, of Ponsford, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, surrounded by his loving family.  A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the New Pine Point School in Pine Point.  A visitation will begin at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the school, and will continue until the time of the funeral service.  

Jerry was born on May 3, 1959, to Sullivan and Georgianna (Chesley) Adams, in White Earth, Minnesota. He attended school at the Pine Point School and then Park Rapids Highschool.  Jerry went on to a career as a conservation officer for the White Earth Reservation.  Likewise, he worked at Wilson Mill beside his friend Roger Wilson.  He also served for 26 ½ years as a firefighter for the Carsonville Fire Department. Jerry was also active in his community and served as member of the school board, Elder’s Committee, and the Pine Point Community Council.  

Jerry enjoyed helping his community.  He was an avid sports fan who loved softball, Twins baseball, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Gophers.  He was always up for an adventure or a car ride and liked going to the casino. Jerry was fond of crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his soulmate, Sara Hunt; two daughters, Kristine (Tom) Adams, and Tiffany Adams; step-children,   Jolene Craig, Susan (Josh) Hunt, and William (Kelsey) Hunt; two brothers, Wayne Chesley, and Mike Chesley; two sisters, Maryann Columbus and Mary (Dolly) Harper and 18 grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan and Georgianna; a son, Scott; three sisters: Carol Jones, Jaqueline Adams, and Laura Wind; a baby brother, George Richard  Adams; and a step-son, Robert Craig.
