Gerald Pesicka

Gerald "Jerry" Lee Pesicka, 63, resident of rural Frazee, MN, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN. Memorial Services will be held at Lakes Area Vineyard Church on Friday, November 15 at 2PM. Visitation will be held at David Donehower Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14 from 5PM-7PM. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery. Jerry was born August 25, 1950 in Aberdeen, SD to John and Ella (Brunmeier) Pesicka. He was raised and educated in Aberdeen. After high school Jerry became certified as an over the road truck driver. For over 40 years, Jerry drove semi. He started his career running grain and livestock for various companies. In 1974, Jerry was united in marriage to Catherine Asbjorenson in Aberdeen. Later in the year, he accepted a position with Daggett Trucking in Frazee and relocated to rural Frazee. In 1983, Jerry purchased his own truck and became owner/operator of Pesicka Trucking and during this time, worked for Waymore Transportation out of Fridley, MN for over 20 years. He ended his trucking career with Valley Trucking in Fargo. Jerry enjoyed canning vegetables with his wife, an occasional trip to the casino, watching T.V. and he loved the Minnesota Vikings, always making time on Sundays to watch his favorite team play. The holidays were also very special to Jerry as he always found time to decorate the house and yard during Christmas time. He looked forward to the holiday meals where he was Cathy's official "taste tester". Jerry was very fond of his dogs, treating them like they were his kids. Jerry and Cathy always looked forward to their annual trip to Florida in their RV during the winter. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his two grandchildren: Quentin and Hannah. He always wanted them along while they were camping and wished to take both of them to Disneyworld. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family. Jerry is survived by his wife Cathy of rural Frazee, children: Robert Johnston of rural Frazee, Nickole Maves of Audubon, two grandchildren: Quentin and Hannah, In addition he is survived by two brothers: Bill (Harlene) Pesicka of Aberdeen, SD and Donny (Alice) Pesicka of Ft. Pierre, SD, sister-in-law, Gloria Pesicka-Marlo of Mohave, AZ. along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wayne Pesicka and Mike Brunmeier, sister: Mary Erickson, brother-in-law: Don Erickson and special cousin: Ervin Burrer.
