Glen Wischnak

Glen W. Wischnak, 71, Vergas, MN, died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Frazee Care Center.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 10 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Loon Lake, Vergas, MN.  Interment will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Glen Walter Wischnak was born November 24, 1947 in Detroit Lakes, to Jesse and Lillian (Priem) Wischnak.  He was raised in Vergas and is a 1966 graduate of Perham High School.  He served with the U. S. Air Force 1966 – 1971.  Glen was united in marriage to Georgina Seelye in November, 1973 in Detroit Lakes, MN. And were married for mine years.  During his working life, he trucked for Borderstate Paving, Hartz Trucking, did building construction, and worked as a mechanic, mostly for Marv Heisler.  Glen was an avid hunter and fisherman.  His favorite place on earth was in his camper at the lake.  He also cherished the time he spent with his friends. Glen was always willing to lend a helping hand and could fix anything.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy (John) Steeke of Detroit Lakes, three grandchildren: Andrea and Kacee Brogren and Duston Steeke, two brothers and two sisters: Marilyn (Dennis) Zitzow of Perham, MN, Donna Ebling of Perham, MN, Larry (Karen) Wischnak of Moorhead, MN, Gene (Audrey) Wischnak of Vergas, many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Tony.  David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
