Glenn Varholdt, 66, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN.
Glenn Wayne Varholdt was born on August 31, 1953 in Moorhead, MN to Lloyd and Betty (Braseth) Varholdt. He graduated from high school in Robbinsdale, MN with the class of 1971. After high school Glenn went to college at Dunwoody Institute where he earned his machinist’s degree before continuing his education by attending school in Detroit Lakes at the VoTech where he received his mechanic degree. When Glenn finished with his degree, he went to work at Erv’s Towing and Tuning where he worked on the vehicles that came in. Glenn opened his own business called Glenn’s Auto Shop which he had for a number of years before going back to Erv’s Towing and Tuning.
Glenn loved working on cars and would fix go-carts for the neighborhood children for free. Corvettes were his favorite, but he had many other cars in his lifetime as well. Glenn and his family would go hunting and camping in Glenn’s younger years, often traveling all over the states. Glenn would fix anything and everything saying, “If I can’t fix it, it wasn’t meant to be fixed.” Glenn had a kind and caring heart.
Deeply loved Glenn’s passing will be missed by his parents Lloyd and Betty, his soulmate Connie Stoner, his sister Jeanette Anderson, his nephew Robert Millner, his niece Amy (Scott) Kiehl, and his extended family. Preceding Glenn in death are his grandparents.
