Gregg Orr

Gregg Aaron Orr, age 60, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his family and friends.  A funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at David Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a time of gathering an hour prior.  Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Gregg was born on December 5, 1957, to Albert and Marilyn Orr.  He grew up in the small town of Arenzville, IL, and graduated from Triopia High School in 1976.  He went on to work for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL.  He met the love of his life, Becky, through his sister Melanie, and they were wed on April 22, 1978.  Together they had two daughters, Angela and Vanessa.  In 1985, the family moved to Minnesota.  Gregg worked for many years at Team Industries as a tool maker; where he met many life-long friends.  In 2010, he went back to school at M-State in Moorhead for mechanical drafting and graduated in 2012.  He then took a job with Caterpillar in Fargo and worked there until 2017.

Gregg loved spending time telling stories, fishing in his boat, hunting in his deer blind, traveling, and being with his family; especially his six grandchildren.  He had a big heart and made friends easily with his incredible sense of humor.   He was always good for a laugh and had the best one-liners.  Gregg had a wealth of useless knowledge which made him a trivia master.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marilyn; siblings: Melanie Ross, Shane Orr, and Shelley Wubker.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; daughters, Angela (Randy) Price, and Vanessa (Lance) Collmann; and his grandchildren: Lilah, Maddie, Milo, Jack, Leah, and Hudson.
