Harlan Hanson Erickson was born July 7, 1921 in rural Rochert, MN to Albert and Cora (Hanson) Erickson. He attended Grand Park Township rural school near Rochert. Harland married AnnaHamernik June 4, 1944 at Walworth Baptist Church in rural Ulen. They farmed in Walworth Township until retiring and moving to Florida in the early 1970s. They returned to Rochert in 1987 and lived there until her death in 1994. He married Helen Ochsner May 27, 1995 at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes since that time.
Harland enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, gardening and traveling, having visited 49 of the 50 states and 5 Canadian Provinces.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, a son, Duane and his wife, Barbara Erickson of Ulen, step-sons, Robert and his wife Lynette Ochsner of Bemidji, MN and Elwood and his wife Terri Ochsner of Eagen, MN, 3 grandsons, Chris, Darin and Chad Erickson and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Anna, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Karl Erickson, a brother, Leslie and 2 sisters, Helen and Laura.
