Harriet Albertson

October 14, 1920 — September 8, 2014

Harriet I. Hawkins was born October 14, 1920 in Crookston, MN to Harry and Ida (Kleven) Hawkins. She graduated from Crookston High School in 1938. After school she met Kenneth Albertson. They were united in marriage on January 29, 1944 in St. Louis, MO. Following Kenneth's service to the Navy, they returned to Crookston, where Ken worked with his father and brother Owen operating a chiropractic clinic. Harriet and Ken built a beautiful home on Tulaby Lake near Waubun. For many years Harriet and Ken owned and operated a chiropractic clinic in Twin Valley, MN. After selling their practice they retired to Tullaby Lake. Harriet and Ken wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ and spent summers at their lake home. Ken passed away June 12, 1997. Harriet continued her trips to Lake Havasu during the winter until her health permitted her from doing so. Harriet was a wonderful cook, often having buckets of cookies to share with friends and family. She loved to fish, go on trips to the casino, reading, puzzle books and knitting. Every year Harriet would knit an afghan and donate it to the Elbow Lake Fire Department for auction.

Harriet is survived by many close friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken (1997), two brothers and four sisters.
