Harry Wilbur Wesley was born August 5, 1917 to Edward and Augusta (Buethner) Wesley in North Effington Township, Parkers Prairie, MN. He attended school in Elmo Township, MN.
Harry was in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC’s) from 1937 to 1942 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1946. He was an active member of the VFW in Frazee, MN. In 1949, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Kuhne at the Bell River Catholic Church, Bell River, MN. Harry worked for the Ottertail County Road Maintenance Department from 1946 until 1981. He and Bea lived in Parkers Prairie, MN until 1955 when Harry received a job promotion and moved to Vergas, MN. In 1995, they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN.
Harry spent his time deer hunting, fishing and reading. He cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harry also enjoyed gardening, dancing and spending time with his neighbor friends chatting and playing cards.
He will be remembered and missed by his wife of 59 years, Beatrice, two children; Margaret Wesley Saunders (Chuck) of Coon Rapids, MN, John Wesley of Detroit Lakes, MN, three grandsons, Brad (Cheryl) Saunders of Battle Lake, MN, Michael (Addie) Wesley of Moorhead, MN, John (Jill) Saunders of Ramsey, MN, one grand daughter; Michon (Tom) Koppe of Detroit Lakes, MN, four great granddaughters, four great grandsons, one brother; Ralph (Sally) Wesley of St. Paul, MN, sister-in-law; Lorraine Wesley of McGregor, MN along with Anna Wark, Barb Payne and several other nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Wesley, four sisters, Florence Wesley, Alice Stigen, Vera Erckenbrack, Bertha Bowman ,one brother, Eddie Wesley and Daughter-in-law; Kristie Wesley.
