Helen Marjorie Annis was born June 23, 1921 in Plainfield, IA. She was raised and educated in Battlecreek, MI, Plainfield and Pine River, MN. She graduated from Pine River High School in 1939. In 1940 she married Ed Fleshner in New Burgh, OR. They made their home in Luverne, MN until 1941 before moving to Hackensack, MN where they resided from 1941 until 1975. Ed died in 1974. Helen moved to Detroit Lakes and in August of 1975 she married Ted Hanson. Ted died in 1977. Helen continued to live in Detroit Lakes becoming a resident at Emmanuel Nursing Home in January 2006. Helen enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, crocheting, reading and visiting with family and friends. Helen is survived by one son ; Donald Fleshner of Colorado, one sister Ethel Hallock of Detroit Lakes, two step-daughters; Gertrude (Virgil) Krogstad of Detroit Lakes, Emily Digman, and one step-son; Karol Hanson. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Ed Fleshner and second husband Ted Hanson along with one daughter Judy Fleshner and one son Dale Fleshner.
