Georgiana Helen Jorgensen known by many as Helen Jorgensen was born June 27, 1920 in Rock Lake, ND to James and Alice (Marchand) Keegan. She passed away peacefully on November 26, 2014 in Fall Creek, WI.
Helen graduated from Rolla High School and held a variety of jobs over the years. Her jobs included working at the Rolla Bakery (age 16), the Rolla Theater, Rolla Drug Store, County Treasurer, Theel Motors, Owner of a Drive Inn, Dairy Farmer, Rolla Bank, and US Bank. She also resided in many locations over the years including Rolla, Bismarck, Rapid City, Arizona City, Detroit Lakes, and Fall Creek. Helen was united in marriage to Garmann Jorgensen on June 19, 1939.
Helen is survived by her five children: Pierre Jorgensen of Conifer, CO, Mara (Monte) Lassonde of St. John, ND, Bjorn Jorgensen of Rapid City, SD, Chari (Bill) White of Fall Creek, WI, and Tina (Linden) White of Detroit Lakes, MN. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Eric Aslakson, Ashley (Ewin) Murray, Hope (Chris) Floberg, Sean (Anna) Lassonde, Ian Lassonde, Joshua Lassonde, Hugh (Nicole) Belgarde, Mathew Jorgensen, Cory (Vinny) Jorgensen, Chanda (Jason) Olson, Alicha White, Chad (Keri) White, Dana White, Dana (Kevin) Swanson, Eric White, Corin (Brandon) Canoy.
Also surviving Helen are many great-grandchildren: Niamh Murray, Ayla Murray, Hailey Floberg, Brooklyn Floberg, Ellie Floberg, Avi Lassonde, Silas Lassonde, Brecken Belgarde, Faith Belgarde, Sophie Belgarde, Ashleigh Rudd, Kailyn Rudd, Ethan White, Levi White, Ceilia White, Sydney Babcock, Ashley White, Miles White, Baileigh Canoy, and Ghaje Canoy. Pat Keegan and Joan Mitchell are Helen's two surviving siblings.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Keegan, her husband, Garmann Jorgenson, her son, Raoul Jorgensen, her siblings: Jim Keegan, Mary Anderson, Tom Keegan, Bill Keegan, and Vivian Pederson.
Helen will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and her ability to put others at ease. She loved to play cards, crochet, and sew. She enjoyed a wee martini, and was fond of saying "Its five o'clock somewhere". Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Rolla, ND in the spring of 2015. Date is yet to be determined.
