Howard Melvin Fredine, 90, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home.
Howard Fredine was born on December 25, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the son of Eric and Anna (Anderson) Fredine. He attended Lane High School and Three Rivers High School. He went to further his education at Manchester University earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. He served as part of the United States Navy in the Korean War. Howard was united in marriage to Alda Jean Krudop in 1953 and to this union two children were born.
Howard won many metals and trophies in competitive marksmanship. He friends, Bud Larson and John Hovdenes, honored him with the Super Geezer award. He loved woodworking, metalsmithing, hunting, fishing, the outdoors and wildlife. He was active with the Tamarac Wildlife conservation team and the Horseless Carriage Club. He loved making and eating pies of all flavors.
Deeply loved Howard’s passing will be mourned by his wife of 67 years Alda Fredine; his children, Jerry Fredine and Karen Larson, and his brother Harold Fredine.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents Eric and Anna Fredine.
