Iva Arlene Molacek was born July 23, 1922 in Spring Creek Township, rural Ogema, MN to Rudolph and Ester (Fredricks) Korinta. She was raised and educated in rural Ogema. Iva was united in marriage to Leonard Molacek September 14, 1943 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They farmed in rural Callaway until moving to Fargo, ND in 1952. They returned to the farm near Callaway in 1956 and Iva worked for Swift and Company in Detroit Lakes 1962 – 1987. Leonard died in 1981 and Iva moved into Callaway in 1984. Iva enjoyed time with her grand and great-grandchildren; her flowers and plants, gardening, canning, reading the Fargo Forum every day, doing the puzzles in the Forum, making Kolaches, the October "Fall Fling" with her family, and "Christmas at Grandma's House". Survivors include three sons and three daughters: Richard of Maple Grove, MN, Michael (Frances) of Saugus, CA, Paul (LaVonne) of Callaway, Dianna (John) "Pete" Rinn of Kasson, MN, Arlene (Jim) Kelly of Cape Coral, FL, Patricia "Patty" Haverkamp of Waubun, MN, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Leonard, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, two sisters: Amy and Marigold, a son-in-law: Jim Haverkamp and a daughter-in-law: Cheryl Molacek.
