Izaiah Bertek-Smith

Izaiah Bertek-Smith, 13, Detroit Lakes, was taken far too soon on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. 

Izaiah was born in Detroit Lakes on October 19, 2010, to Eric and Jesi (Bertek) Smith.  Izaiah was 6^th grade student at Minnesota Connections Academy.  He loved reading, comics, music, fishing and puzzles, the bigger the better!  Izaiah touched many hearts and will be sadly missed.

Izaiah leaves his parents, Eric and Jesi Bertek-Smith, his siblings: Christopher, Jakob, Logan, Alex, Emma, Ely, Savanna, Austin, Christopher and Malakhi.  He also leaves his grandparents: Sandy Smith, Vicki Bachleitner and Perry Bertek, his aunts and uncles: Don (Tanya) Smith, Greg (Jenny) Smith and Cheryl (Tim) Wolfe.

Izaiah was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Zelda Conklin, grandfather, Theodore Smith and an uncle, George Bertek.

The memorial visitation for Izaiah will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 12 noon to 1 PM at DAVID-DONEHOWER FUNERAL HOME (609 US HWY 10 E., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).  A memorial service will follow at 1 PM with Becky Jackson, Celebrant officiating.  Final rest for Izaiah will be private.
