Jake Hilde

May 3, 1985 — April 5, 2025

On a sunny spring evening May 3rd, 1985, a strong willed, fearless baby boy named Jake Garret Hilde was born to Jimmy & Kathy (Johnson) Hilde. This would be evident for the rest of his short time here on earth all the way to the end.

He passed away April 5th way too soon at the age of 39 due to complications from a surgery that was going to give him more time with us. Evidently God had other plans for Jake.

After graduating from Lake Park-Audubon High School in 2003, Jake met the love of his life Robin, and from that point forward it was always “Jake and Robin”. Shortly after they welcomed their two beautiful sons Garret in 2005, and Stephen in 2006. He loved those two boys fiercely and wanted them to have the best things in life. He was also looking forward to his granddaughter being born and would have been the best Papa!

In 2009 he started out trucking as an owner operator. A dream of his since he was just a little boy, wanting to be just like his daddy after losing him when he was only 11 years old. He hated being on the road, but it also brought him comfort and made him feel closer to his dad who he missed soo dearly. Over the years he built a fleet of trucks, and he turned his business into HBG, LLC. Something he was so proud of that he and his sons were building together. Jake was a great, hardworking mechanic and was sure to instill those same qualities into both of his boys. Many weekends were spent turning wrenches in the shop with his boys and his beloved brother Calvin. They have made many memories together with Garret and Stephen, all of these moments that he truly cherished.

Some of his most cherished memories and influential moments were also made with great friend and father-in-law Steve. Whether it was working on projects, golfing, hanging out, bonfires and time at the hunting land.

Jake was Jake, and he loved being around people. If he had something to say he was going to say it. He had quite the humorous side too trying to get any reaction out of people he could. He loved to laugh, jam out and sing along. He was strong, tough, and stubborn. He was also the first person to show up when anyone needed anything because he always wanted to help. He was a fixer; he was the one person you could always call, and he would be there. His soft big heart showed in this way. He loved so fiercely. His bright light and smile will be truly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Robin, boys Garret (Zion) and Stephen, mother Kathy, mother-in-law Nancy, sister Heather Zentz, sister Cassie (Joe) Louwagie, brother Calvin (Jessica) Hilde, sister-in-law Moriah (Don), Grandmother Patricia Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful dog Diesel. His spirit will live on in each of them and in the countless friends especially his two sons that carry all the great qualities he possessed his legacy will live on through them.

Jake is preceded in death by his father James Hilde, father-in-law Steve Evans, Grandma Barb Hilde Grandpa Kermit Hilde, and Papa Johnson. Their memories will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind, who will always hold him close in their hearts.

As Jake would say: "Ten Four".
