James Rudolph Samuel Frigstad was born July 10, 1935 in Montclair, New Jersey to Rudolph S. and Martha (Kystad) Frigstad. He was raised in Portland, ND and St. Paul, MN. He served with the U. S. Air Force. Following his discharge, he returned to St. Paul where he worked in retail management for Robert Hall Stores. James was united in marriage to Mary Parker January 27, 1968 in Minneapolis, MN. They lived in Kankakee and Chicago, IL where he worked as a stock broker; Mayville, ND where he was the Ford Dealer; Colorado Springs, CO where he was a property manager and operated a retail shop and a bar. They moved to Detroit Lakes, MN in 2004
James enjoyed his family cottage on Ottertail Lake, wood working and fixing things. He was a member of the Southern Colorado Beverage Association and the Colorado Springs Chamber Of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Detroit Lakes, 2 sons, John and his wife Laura of St. Anthony, MN, Matthew of Colorado Springs, CO, 2 grandchildren, James and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Roger, Robert and Donald.
