ames Joseph Kraker was born November 4, 1925 in Ogema, MN to John and Mary Ann (Lorsung) Kraker. He attended grade school in Ogema and graduated from Waubun (MN) High School in 1943. Following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy. He served his country for 30 years before retiring from the Navy. After retirement, James went to work for North American Van Lines where he worked for another 30 years.
Throughout his life James enjoyed classical music, science fiction, the beaches of Florida and visiting family. He also made it a point to travel home to the family reunions.
James is survived by three sisters: Florence James of Walnut Creek, CA, Mildred (Val) Caspers of Ogema, MN and Beth (Cecil “Skeeb”) Cook of Frazee, MN, one brother: Leonard (Betty) Kraker of Sioux City, Iowa along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
