James "Jim" Gunthorpe

James “Jim” David Gunthorpe, 57, passed away on November 20, 2019 in Detroit Lakes, MN.

James Gunthorpe was born on November 1, 1962 in Duluth, MN and adopted by David and Delores (Person) Gunthorpe. Jim grew up and went to school in Omaha, NE. After high school he and his parents moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. Jim had lived and worked in the Detroit Lakes area ever since.

Jim enjoyed playing the bass guitar and riding motorcycles. Most of all Jim loved his dogs, Boris and Tommy, they played a big role in his life and brought great joy to him.

Deeply loved, James’ passing will be remembered by his son Jimmy Gunthorpe Jr., his sister Jill (Gregg) Phillips, and his nieces Emily (Isaac) Mousel and Megan Severson.

Preceding James in death are his parents David and Delores Gunthorpe.
