Jay Tollefson

Jay Eugene Tollefson was born May 29, 1965 in Fergus Falls, MN to Eugene and Ardis (Williams)Tollefson. He moved with his family to Detroit Lakes in 1974 and is a 1983 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School. Following graduation, he worked at Hardee's and Country Kitchen in Detroit Lakes. He then attended the truck driving course at the Alexandria Vocational School. Jay was united in marriage to LeAnn Rodewald, April 8, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Together they were blessed with two beautiful children: Tyler and Jenna. Jay drove truck for Harstad Trucking, Anderson Sand & Gravel and, for the last 10 years, for Detroit Lakes Express. Jay enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, demo derbies, watching NASCAR races and he married into the hobby of riding horses. He had an unwavering faith and tried to read his Bible most every night. Survivors include his wife, LeAnn of Callaway, his children: Tyler and Jenna at home, Meghan (Andrew) Powers of St. Ansgar, IA, a grandson, Caleb, his Mother: Ardis Tollefson of Detroit Lakes, a sister: Tammy (Donald) Tate of Detroit Lakes, his Father and Mother-in-law: Wallace and Charlotte Rodewald of Detroit Lakes, his sister-in-law: Sandy (Jarrod) Green of Sheridan, WY, and his brothers-in-law: Mark (Wendy) Rodewald of Detroit Lakes and Dean (Bonnie) Rodewald of Callaway. Jay held a special place in his heart for his godparents: Sharon and Adrian Westergard. He was preceded in death by his Dad Eugene, a niece Nicole, a sister-in-law Deb, and his godmother Sharon Westergard.
