Jean Johnson

March 26, 1935 — June 13, 2011

Jean Ann was born March 26, 1935 in Hankinson, ND to Hans and Anna (Figge) Andresen. As a young gal she moved with her parents to a farm near Richwood, MN. She attended country school near Richwood and in 1955 Jean graduated from high school in Detroit Lakes. On September 22, 1955, Jean was united in marriage to Paul Johnson in Lund Lutheran Church near Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Jean worked various jobs around the area, but her main focus was raising her three daughters. Jean was a wonderful cook. She effortlessly prepared meals that everyone enjoyed. She was known for her famous mash potatoes, lutefisk and lefse, and her grandchildren fondly remember her "monkey bread". Jean also had a passion for quilting. She was often heard saying, "I have all these patterns in my head, but not sure if I have enough time to quilt them all" she also enjoyed reading, canning and sewing. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished every minute spent with her family, especially her dear grandchildren. Jean will be remembered and missed by her husband: Paul of Detroit Lakes, MN, daughters: Randi (Keith) Marsh of Spokane, WA, Christi (Karl) Jorgenson of Detroit Lakes and Staci (Bernie) Foltz of West Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Karlee (Vincent) Bertuccio of Seattle, WA, Cody (Karrie) Jorgenson of Laurel, MT, Katelyn Jorgenson of Seattle, WA, Jordan (Jami) Marsh of Chattaroy, WA, Tanner Marsh of Missoula, MT, Adam Foltz of Fargo, Carson Foltz of Fargo and Shelby Foltz of West Fargo, three great grandchildren and sisters: Dorothy Erlandson of Turlock, CA, Betty (Arlin) Nordgulen of Alexandria, MN, Carol (Ernest) Hukriede of Detroit Lakes and one brother: Wayne (Cheryl) Andresen of Spokane, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister: Mary Rudolph. A Special "Thank You" to Emmanuel Nursing Home Staff and nurses on Maple Lane for their exceptional care and support given to our mother during her stay.
