Jerald "Jerry" Tidemann age 72, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed peacefully on December 28th, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. Jerry was born on November 10, 1952 in Albert Lea MN, to Richard and Millie Tidemann. Jerry was united in marriage to Julie Swenson on October 14, 1972. In 1980 they moved to Detroit Lakes along with their two young sons to realize Jerry's dream of owning his own offset printing business. Jerry had a passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also enjoyed building duck boats which always received attention on the lakes and were featured in Ducks Unlimited Magazine. His Catholic faith was very important to him and he was proud of his Honorary Life Membership to the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed his affiliation with the JC's, Lions Club, and the Becker County Sportsmen Club. Jerry had a love for animals and enjoyed his dogs, cats and his horse Britches. He also enjoyed walks around the Fish Hatchery and socializing with people he would meet on his daily walks around town. Most of all he was grateful for his grandchildren and his benevolent wife of 52 years. Jerry is survived by his two sons, Jason (Tricia) of Chanhassen, MN, Jake of Frazee, MN, and grandchildren Thea, Tristan, and Brooke. A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a future date.
