Jimmie Williams

Jimmie D. Williams, 76, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Sunday, September 1 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, at the Harvest Fellowship Church in Frazee, MN, Pastor Ryan Stockstrom, officiating. Interment will be in the Wildwood Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes with military rites provided by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Jimmie Dale Williams was born November 16, 1936 in O'Neill, NE to Raymond and Esther (Kerstine) Williams. As a young child, he moved with his family to the Shell Lake area of rural Detroit Lakes, MN where he was raised and educated. Jimmie was united in marriage to Maxine Fjeld November 12, 1962 in Fargo, ND. They made their home in West Fargo until returning to the Shell Lake area. They then moved to Brandy Lake Estates near Detroit Lakes prior to moving into the city of Detroit Lakes. During his working life, Jimmie drove truck for a number of road construction companies including Bradshaw's and Kost Brothers. During the winter months, he also did snow removal. Maxine died June 3, 2012. Jimmie enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include three daughters: Donalee Lachowitzer of Detroit Lakes, Nancy (Ron) Broberg of Detroit Lakes, Amy (Andy) Nolan of Rochert, 12 grandchildren: Miranda Sweet, Christina Lachowitzer, Meghan Dohrer, Ashley Broberg, Paige Broberg, Morgan Williams-Broberg, Antoinette Nolan, Tiara Nolan, Nathan Nolan, Zach Nolan, Nick Nolan, Isabelle Nolan; five great grandchildren: Jade Sweet, Zane Sweet, Dagon Stumbo, Cheyenne Dohrer and Nolan Dohrer, a sister: Inez (Joe) DePiano of Detroit Lakes, three brothers: Bill (Betty) Williams of Redmont, OR., Robert Williams in Utah and Buddy Williams of Richwood, MN. In addition to his wife, Maxine, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Eliason, a brother Cecil and a grandson, Cameron.
