Joel Murphy

Joel “Joe” R Murphy, 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Sanford Health on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

Joel Murphy was born on December 17, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Harold and Barbara (Cederholm) Murphy. He attended high school in Murray and graduated as part of the class of 1968. He then went on to further his education at the Utah Tech school studying automotive repair for two years. He then worked on forklifts for many years, and was very good at what he did!

Joel was united in marriage to Clara “Rusty” Johnson on April 5, 1997 in Utah, where he worked for Material Handling before moving to Audubon, MN in May of 1997. After moving to Audubon, he worked on tractors and was currently employed at Big Tractor Parts in Hawley, MN.

Joel was a member of the Midwest Minnesota Harness Club. He loved horses, dogs, and some cats! He enjoyed being on the tractor, cutting hay, baling hay, and pushing snow.

Joel had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved his family dearly. He was always willing to help others with anything they needed.

Deeply loved Joel’s passing will be mourned by his wife Rusty Clara of Audubon, MN; his sons Royce Murphy of Amsterdam, NY, Wade (Tricia) Erickson of Audubon, MN, Lanny Erickson of Roberts, WI, Lenny (Jessica) Erickson of Roberts, WI; his grandsons Landon (Brooke) Erickson of Frazee, MN, Bill Kohler of Perham, MN; his granddaughter Montanya Erickson of Bloomington, IL; his siblings Jolene (Steve) Brewer of Pleasant Grove, UT, Clay Murphy of Murray, UT, Todd (Jodi) Murphy of West Jordan, UT, Melanie Miller of Pleasant Grove, UT and many nieces and nephews.

Joel is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Barbara.
