John Lee “Squirrel” Critt, 50, of Frazee, MN died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 20 at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth, MN with Mother Lisa Smith officiating. Interment will be in St. Columba Cemetery, White Earth. Friends may call 4-8 PM Sunday, April 19 with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
John Lee “Squirrel” Critt was born May 20, 1958 in White Earth to Beatrice Critt. He attended school in White Earth through the 10
th
grade and moved to Frazee where he graduated from Frazee High School in 1978. Following graduation he worked in a number of communities in the Western U.S. as a welder. John returned to Frazee in the early 1980’s.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family; especially his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed time spent in his shop and giving kids rides on his four-wheeler.
John is survived by his companion, Joyce Skaalen of Rochert, MN; sons, Matthew Critt of Frazee and Derek Skaalen of Detroit Lakes; brother, Michael Critt of Detroit Lakes; four sisters, Judith Critt of Frazee (his twin sister), Maureen Critt of Keewatin, MN, Linda Buck of Hot Springs, AR, Donna Dibley of Detroit Lakes; four nieces; six nephews; two great-nephews; six great-nieces.
