John Zima, 82, Waubun, MN, died Thursday at Innovis Hospital in Fargo. Mass Of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 7 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in White Earth, MN, Fr. Mitch Byeck, OMI officiating. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Ogema, with Military Rites provided by Ogema Post 9880 Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call 4:00 ? 8:00 PM Sunday, April 6 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in White Earth and also one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the church.
John Zima was born August 8, 1925 near White Earth, MN to Joseph and Anna (Beran) Zima. He attended country school in Maple Grove Township and served with the United States Navy from October 1944 to November of 1946. John was united in marriage with Elaine Dalve June 7, 1949 in White Earth, MN. They farmed in White Earth Township near White Earth and, since 1955, John hauled livestock to the stockyards in Fargo, and grain for area farmers. He retired in 2007. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, farming, trucking, working in his shop, working with his Caterpillar Tractor,
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Waubun; children, Henry and his wife, Sherry, Ronald and his wife Patricia, Michael and his wife, Joni, John Jr. and his wife, Patty, Juliana and her husband, Gary Jasken all of Waubun, Roger and his wife, Lauri of Ogema; 20 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
