Josephine E. Kirk, age 95, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at St. Mary?s Innovis Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 12:00 PM in St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of rural Detroit Lakes. Officiating will be Fr. Bob LaPlante. Visitation will be held Saturday at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Cemetery.
Josephine Pavlick was born September 5, 1912 to John and Anna (Cimballa) Pavlick in South Chicago, IL. She grew up in Gary, Indiana where she graduated from Horseman High School. She married Harold Kirk and they made their home in Gary IN. They moved to Danville, IL and later Hot Springs, AR where they operated lounges. They retired and moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida where they enjoyed their retirement. After Harold?s passing, Josephine moved to Detroit Lakes to be closer to her sister Alice Zaranka who preceded her in death in 2007. Alice and Josephine spent their latter years living together and going to local events, visiting with friends and going to Bingo whenever they were able.
She will be remembered and missed by her sister Helen Reid of Lees Summit, MO, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great ? great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many dear friends including Al (Jean) Brevik, Duey (Bonnie) Miller and Debbie and Char.
