Juanita Hardy, 65, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral Services for Juanita will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Old Pine Point School, Ponsford, MN. Visitation will be held at the Old Pine Point School on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 starting at 4:00 PM and continuing until the time of service on Wednesday. Juanita Jones was born May 31, 1946 in White Earth, MN to Thomas W. and Vivian V. (Fineday) Jones. After receiving her GED, Juanita moved to the Twin Cities. She worked various jobs while living there before moving to Chicago, IL. Juanita enrolled in classes to further her education and upon graduation; she accepted a position with Standard Oil in Chicago. She later lived in Utah and Montana and in 1997, Juanita moved back to Pine Point. Throughout her life, Juanita loved traveling to pow wows. She and her family would travel to Canada, Las Vegas and Seattle. She also enjoyed doing bead work, quilting, but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. Juanita is survived by her daughter: Danielle (Jayme) Harper, Thomasa Hardy and Donald Hardy Jr. all of Pine Point. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one sister: Naomi Jones of Pine Point. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Corinne Jones, Alberta Johnson and brothers: Thomas Jones Jr. and Delmas Jones.
