Judith Tweten

Judith K. Tweten, 66, Audubon, MN, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 31 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Audubon, Reverend John Lee, officiating. Friends may call Friday, May 30 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Judith Kay Tweten was born July 27, 1947 in Fargo, North Dakota to Floyd and Beverly (Rensby) Anderson. She grew up in Moorhead, MN and attended Moorhead Public Schools. Judy was united in marriage to David Tweten September 28, 1964 in Sisseton, SD. They made their home in Moorhead until moving to Monteray, California in 1965. Judy was diagnosed with Lupus in 1969 and that same year, they returned to Moorhead. They moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1970 and lived there until 1982 when they moved to Fargo, ND. They started Suntana in 1982 and sold the business in 1987. Beginning in 1987, they purchased a motor home and traveled throughout the United States. In 2003, they purchased property south of Audubon and they had to discontinue their traveling in 2005. Judy enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, sewing, entertaining family and friends and life in general. Survivors include her husband, David of rural Audubon, a daughter: Julie (Curtis) Harrison of Bloomer, WI, a sister: Terrie (Gary) Hesby of Frazee, MN, a brother, Chris (Missy) Anderson of Moorhead, MN, a brother-in-law: Warren Skare of Moorhead. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Daniel Tweten, her parents, Floyd and Bev Anderson, a sister, Gloria Skare and a brother, Tim Anderson.
