Kathryn Coleman

Kathryn Dawn Coleman was born August 6, 1951 in Detroit Lakes to Jerry and Dolores (Baker) Sullivan. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes. As a young woman, she moved to St. Paul, MN where she married Larry Coleman in 1973. After her father’s death in 1980, they moved to Fargo, ND and, in 1981, adopted their son, Troy. They later moved to Detroit Lakes where Kathy worked as a Personal Care Attendant for Melissa Brilset whom she loved as a daughter. She also had an unceasing love for her pet dogs and birds.  At the time of her death, Kathy was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Detroit Lakes. She enjoyed sharing the Bible’s truths she learned often. This gave her much comfort during her years of ill health.  Kathy is survived by her son, Troy Coleman of Detroit Lakes; three brothers, Tim Sullivan of Shoreview, MN, Tom (Patty) Sullivan of Blaine, MN, John Sullivan of Mason City, IA; sister, Jean (Rick) Moyer of Staunton, VA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry (2004), her parents and her older brother, Patrick.
