Kay (Butterfield) Eidenschink, age 72, Detroit Lakes, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at home, surrounded by family.
Kay was born in Waterloo, Iowa on August 28, 1951, a daughter of the late Willis “Bill” and Helen “Jane” (Wentland) Butterfield. She moved to Richfield, MN at a young age, and grew up there, graduating with the class of 1969. Following her high school graduation, Kay travelled to Guadalajara, Mexico where she took classes and traveled to Mexico City. Kay went onto attend college in Mankato.
Kay married Paul Eidenschink at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on July 19, 1975, and together they raised two sons. Kay worked various jobs throughout her life, but really enjoyed working at the nursing home where she loved visiting with and caring for the residents.
Kay enjoyed reading, gardening and baking, and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also loved birthday and anniversary parties and being together with loved ones. She will be sadly missed.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Paul of over 49 years, her sons: Andrew and Raymond (Candace). She also leaves her grandchildren: Nathan, Natalie, Owen, Fayth, Bethany and Lillian; her brothers: Scott (Karen) and Steve (Char) Butterfield. Kay is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial service for Kay will be held at David-Donehower Funeral Home, 609 US HWY 10 E., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501, on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 2 PM with Deacon Gary Hager officiating. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be in Richfield United Methodist Church Cemetery.
