Kayla M. Norcross, 25, Ponsford, MN, died Saturday, July 4 from injuries received in an automobile accident near Ponsford. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 9 at the Ponsford Community Center in Ponsford, Mike Doll, officiating. Interment will be in the Norcross Family Cemetery near Ponsford. Friends may call from 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 8 until the time of the service on Thursday at the community center in Ponsford.
Kayle Marie Norcross was born Deceober11, 1984 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Terry Peake and Lorene Norcross. She spent her early years with her grandparents, George “Joe Bush” and Margaret Fairbanks. She attended Pine Point School and was a 2003 graduate of The Circle Of Life School in White Earth, MN. During her working life she worked as a cocktail server at the Shooting Star Casino, taught hoop dancing, did day care and was a personal care attendant.
Kayla enjoyed spending time with her children, baby sitting, traveling to Pow Wows with her grandparents, working jigsaw puzzles, texting and spending time with her friends.
Survivors include a son and daughter: Thayian Christopher Greenfeather and Angela Greenfeather both of Ponsford; her parents: Terry Peake and Lorene Norcross of Ponsford, a sister: Donna Margaret Peake of Ponsford, a brother: Christopher Lee (Maria Fox) Peake of Ponsford and an adopted uncle: Rick (Jolene Craig) Smith of Ponsford . She was preceded in death by her grandparents: George “Joe Bush” and Margaret Fairbanks.
