Larry David Mills

Larry Mills, 85, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was under hospice care. 

 Larry was born September 2, 1939 to David and Helen Mills in Spencer, Iowa. On July 20, 1957 Larry married his high school sweetheart Lillian. They had two children, Vicki and Terry and lived in Greenville, Iowa until relocating to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in 1975. They shared seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Larry will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. 

 He is survived by his wife, Lillian; children, Vicki (Frank) Callaghan and Terry (Lisa) Mills; grandchildren, Erica (DJ) McDougall, Lindsey (Brian) Brasch, Jenny (Ben) Giannini, Gavin (Abbie) Mills, Zoli (Jess) Callaghan and Sara Callaghan; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Jeanette) Mills, Mark (Leslie) Mills; and step sister, Ginny Olson. 

 He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister (Linda) and grandson (Lee Metelak). 

 A celebration of life is scheduled at David-Donehower Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2024, beginning at Noon with a time of food and fellowship to immediately follow.
