Laura Wind

Laura Nancy Wind, 66 of Mahnomen, MN passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Fosston Essentia Health Hospital.

Laura Nancy Chesley was born on July 11, 1953 to Lawrence Adams and Georgianna Chesley in White Earth, MN.  Laura was raised in Ponsford and attended Pine Point School and Park Rapids High School.  Laura moved to Minneapolis, MN after high school and worked as a housekeeper for numerous families.  She was also known to be a great cook and was sought after by the local bars to help cook for special events. Laura moved to Cass Lake and worked as the bingo manager before moving back to White Earth due to health issues.

Laura loved to cook, sew, create crafts, play bingo and trips to the casino.  She enjoyed attending Pow- Wows and spending time with her large family.

Laura is survived by her mother Georgianna; children Laurel Jolene Chesley, Bridget Ann Rock, Timothy Bellanger, Cindy Bellanger, and Leon Bellanger; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister MaryAnn Columbus; brothers Ken (Wayne) Chesley, Mike Chesley, and Gerald Adams.

Laura is preceded in death by her father Lawrence; son John Lee Rock; and three grandchildren.
