LaVaun Marie Braun was born August 14, 1939 in White Earth, MN, to Gregory and Doris (Vizenor) Schons. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes . She was formerly employed as a bartender, cook, truck driver and seamstress. LaVaun enjoyed traveling, sewing, going to the casino and spending time with her family.

LaVaun is survived by 7 children: Jeff (Linda) Klobuchar of Audubon, MN; Shelly Breitenfeld of Faribault, MN; Craig Klobuchar of Detroit Lakes; Wayne (Candi) Gjerde of Frazee, MNB; Sherry (Rob) Kneifl of West Salem, WI; Mona Gjerde of Faribault, MN; Terrie (Floyd) Johnson of Bangor, WI; 17 grandchiildren: Chris (Missy), Chad (Tara), Cory (Karyn), Casey (Jenny), Noel (Alex), Robert (Ashley), Joe, Jessie, Dylan, Alex, Logan, Cody, Aubrey, Owen, Colton, Angel and a baby on the way. 7 Great grandchildren: Taya, Courtney, Carter, Chad , Camryn, Carley and Caleb. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Theodore and Philip Schons and 6 infant children
