LeRoy Opsahl

LeRoy A. Opsahl, 49, Ashby, MN formerly of Detroit Lakes died Saturday, August 15 at the Ashby Assisted Living Center in Ashby. Graveside services for LeRoy will be held Friday, August 21 at 2PM in Pelican Valley Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids, MN. LeRoy Arnold Opsahl was born September 25, 1965 in Pelican Rapids, MN to Loren and Joan (Dirks) Opsahl. He attended Pelican Rapids High School. After graduation he attended Wadena Truck Driving School. He worked for West Central Turkeys for five years and K&K Transport for two years before retiring due to health reasons in 2002. LeRoy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed living in the lakes area, being outdoors, time shared with friends and listening to country and gospel music. He always had time to help a friend in need and loved his pet cat "Tubbers". He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. LeRoy is survived by his childhood friend Denise Magnusson of Pelican Rapids. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Diane Opsahl.
