Leslie Dodd

February 13, 1971 — June 14, 2010

Leslie Allen Dodd was born February 13, 1971 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Morris and Ruth Ann (Cline) Dodd. He attended grade school in Callaway, MN and later Detroit Lakes High School. After school he started working construction around the lakes area and later accepted a job at Hood Communications. At the age of 18, Les enrolled at Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, MN to learn how to operate heavy equipment. It was at this time of his life, Les was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Throughout his life, Leslie was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, coaching from home as if he was on the field himself. As a computer guru, Les shared his knowledge and took pride in teaching home school children the amazing capabilities of the computer. He loved to watch movies, especially action and science fiction. He also enjoyed listening to book recordings and playing video games. Les had a strong Christian faith, where he knew Lou Gehrig’s would eventually take his life, but not his spirit.

Leslie will be remembered and missed by his three brothers and one sister: Morris Jr. (Rose) Dodd of Strawberry Lake, MN, Steven Dodd of Strawberry Lake, MN, Clayton (Lori Nelson) Dodd of Detroit Lakes, MN and Goldie (Todd) Leinenger of Watertown, SD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister JoEllen.
